Dues will be computed as 1.5% of a household’s gross annual family income, but no less than $500 per year. In addition, each household will make an annual contribution of no less than $100 to the Building Fund.
A household may ask for a waiver from the above requirements by making a confidential written or oral request for a need-based waiver to the President or Financial Vice-President, either of whom is authorized to negotiate waivers as needed. However, even in the case of a need-based waiver, the minimum payment required for Congregation membership is $50 per year in dues and $25 per year to the Building Fund.
The Board requires a minimal dues payment from each household to cover the costs associated with rabbinic leadership, religious education, building maintenance, congregational mailings and publications, etc. This is in keeping with reasonable expectations that all members make at least a minimal financial commitment to the Congregation.
